WHICH WAY?
Did you ever think about it? Which way are you going? Everyone is going somewhere, so which way are you going? You either go to heaven or hell at the end of life, and when it comes right down to it, no one wants to go to hell. So the most important question we face in life is "how do we get to heaven"?
SOME THINK YOU WILL GET THERE BY REFORMING
"I'm going to turn over a new leaf in my life." "I'll try harder to do good." Man in himself thinks salvation is earned. So man is attempting to do good, reform, and improve his life to please God.
The Bible's answer:
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags." Isaiah 64:6
SO YOU CAN'T REFORM TO GET TO HEAVEN
SOME THINK YOU GET THERE BY GOOD WORKS
"If I can do some good, certainly God will not send me to hell!" Many people are trying so hard to work their way to heaven by what they have done, and they think heaven is reached by their church membership, communion, baptism, or by some religious activity they can perform.
The Bible's answer:
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..." Titus 3:5
"For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9
SO HEAVEN IS NOT REACHED BY OUR PERFORMANCE OR SOME RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY WE PRODUCE
SOME THINK THEY ARE ALL RIGHT
"I've done nothing to deserve hell". I'm basically a good person." These folks have tried to live a good life, and because of this they feel they deserve heaven.
The Bible's answer:
"...there is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:10
SO ALL DESERVE HELL BECAUSE ALL HAVE SINNED
HOW THEN DOES ONE GET TO HEAVEN?
If reforming, good works, and a good life will not get you to heaven, WHAT WILL?
The Bible's answer:
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13
If you realize your need of Jesus Christ as your Saviour, invite Him into your heart right now. The Bible promises He will save you, forgive your sins and prepare a place for you in heaven.
